Commitments
The materials
We select our materials based on the desired result, the quality and durability of the material and their impact on the environment.
Chevignon favors eco-responsible materials in the creation of its collections: organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled polyester and vegetable-tanned leather whenever possible.
We prefer European materials: our wool sheets and the threads of our sweaters are Italian. Our shirts are made in Morocco with Spanish or Portuguese fabrics. Our leathers are mainly Moroccan.
Our polo shirts are made from GOTS certified organic cotton as well as some of our shirts.
The materials of our shirts, sweaters, down jackets and 90% of our sleeved pieces as well as a large part of our t-shirts and polo shirts are Oekotex accredited. 40% of our leathers are vegetable tanned. Our leather jackets come mainly from Morocco and when they come from India, they are manufactured in Oekotex leather, or LWG, certified factories.
We use noble materials for our icons like our TOGS, KROSS, COMBAT, RANCH and COSMO down jackets, which are made from a fabric of French origin certified OEKOTEX.
100% eco-responsible lines
Our new line of jeans (pants, shirts and jackets), made in Tunisia, is 100% eco-responsible: all stages of production are carried out in Tunisia (weaving, assembly, washing) The line is eco-wash, that is to say that we have used technologies such as laser or ozone for washing which allow to drastically reduce chemicals and water consumption. The fabrics are made of recycled cotton and organic cotton. The pocket bottoms are made of organic cotton. The galvanization of the buttons is carried out thanks to natural corrosion limiting the use of chemicals as much as possible.
Traceability
We are strengthening the traceability of our collections. Our traceability is 100% concerning our manufacturers (assembly of parts). From 50% to 70% concerning our materials.
Animal welfare
In our collections, you will not find fur, angora or exotic leather. We favor non-intensive breeding that respects animal welfare.
Produce as close as possible
In order to minimize our carbon footprint, we produce as close as possible to our points of sale. Thus, 70% of our products are manufactured through local import, compared to only 30% through large-scale import.
Made in France
Chevignon has developed the Made in France on its iconic products: The French Togs down jacket is not only produced in France, but also 100% recycled. The Pilote leather jacket is our iconic leather produced in a Parisian workshop. The 1984 down jacket is also made in France. These three models have obtained the “Origine France Garanti” label and other models are still to come.
We place our productions where the know-how is the best
We work with historical partners with whom we have established a relationship of trust. The models produced in China or India are there because these countries have developed a particular know-how, which other countries no longer have.
Produce less but better
We adjust our orders as closely as possible to our needs. We prefer to produce less than to overstock. The right stock allows us to use fewer resources and produce less waste. No unsold items are destroyed. We have started pre-ordering with certain leather references and we are offering a capsule of down jackets made from our dormant stocks of materials.
Around the product
Now 100% of our papers are recycled and come from sustainably managed forests. Our bags are made from FSC recycled paper. We eliminate all unnecessary items from our packaging and favor packaging made from recycled paper and recycled plastic. All our labels are made from recycled paper and our stickers are made from recycled polyester.
The galvanization of our metal buttons is carried out using natural corrosion, limiting the use of chemicals and water as much as possible.
