Because the CHEVIGNON Man is a man who likes to treat himself and appreciates authentic and reliable products, because he has a taste for adventure and is looking for products that are resistant to time and bad weather, CHEVIGNON makes the quality and durability of its products its priority. Drawing on artisanal know-how, in premium workshops, we design clothes made to last a lifetime. Chevignon has inexhaustible archives and historical know-how, particularly on large pieces. We create our own patterns to offer you the best possible fit. We also select all our materials, accessories and all the components of our products.
Know-how
Leather is a natural raw material: some imperfections are due to the simple fact that animals are in nature and their skins can be marked by different external elements. Each skin is selected one by one to make your leather a unique product. Our leathers are made in Chevignon's historic partner workshops.
Every detail is studied to offer you a high-end product: All the sleeves of our leathers are angled, so that they fit the arms and provide optimal comfort and all our linings have a pleat in the back. Each CHEVIGNON piece is made from the best skins. Leather is a living material which, once worked, continues to evolve and acquire a patina.
To make our down jackets, we use remarkable feathers and down, offering properties such as breathability, air circulation and thermal insulation.
Our down jackets are mainly made in Eastern Europe, in premium workshops. French fabrics, Italian recycled feathers, all materials are carefully selected to offer you the best possible quality. Our iconic TOGS down jacket is a very elaborate product, which requires more than 100 assembly operations. It takes much less down by weight than other materials, which gives a light and warm product, the down naturally re-inflates and hugs the body's shape.
For our pieces filled with feathers and down, we indicate its heating power.
Many of our down jackets are made from recycled feathers and down: this is a mixture of down and duck feathers from pillows and duvets that cannot be resold. It is then sorted, dusted, washed and dried before reaching our manufacturing workshops. All of our TOGS down jackets are filled with 100% recycled white feathers and down. By recovering this raw material and reconditioning it, we reduce waste and help develop the recycling chain.
The rest of the feathers and down used come from ducks slaughtered for meat consumption and we only recover the plumage in order to make an exceptional filling. There is therefore no animal suffering linked to plucking.
Chevignon's strength is of course its expertise in jackets and coats: water-repellent or waterproof materials depending on needs, padded or removable linings, double buttoning: all the details are studied to offer you both a fashionable and functional product. Our woolen cloths are Italian, for an excellent finish and durability.
Also, some of our jackets and/or coats can be waterproof or water-repellent.
You should know that there are different levels of waterproofing. On the one hand, we indicate the waterproofness of a fabric, on the other hand we prove the waterproofness of an entire product. Our waterproof parkas are made of waterproof fabric and heat-sealed seams, so the entire product is 100% waterproof. When sewing, the needle's prick in the fabric can create a vulnerability in the waterproofing of the material. Welding the seams thus makes our garment safer by avoiding any risk of water intrusion through the assembly areas.
When a product is water-repellent, water runs off the material perfectly but can sometimes penetrate it if exposure to water is intense, through the seams or closure systems.
